The Gel Deep Cycle series has a very low internal resistance, making it suitable for applications where high current discharge occurs, such as inverters, thrusters and winches. The electrolyte is in the form of a gel, which significantly extends the life of the batteries.

The gel model series offers better durability for deep cycles and longer overall life. The use of high-purity materials and calcium-lead grids ensures particularly low self-discharge, so they will not discharge for a long period without charging. Gel Deep Cycle batteries are equipped with copper flat terminals with M8 holes, ensuring the best possible contact when connecting, eliminating the need for battery clamps. Batteries are CE and UL compliant in fire-resistant ABS containers and are backed by Victron's worldwide 2-year warranty.

VRLA technology

VRLA stands for Valve Regulated Lead Acid, which means the batteries are sealed. The gas escapes through the safety valves only when the cell is overcharged or damaged. VRLA batteries are permanently maintenance-free.

Low self-discharge

By using lead lime grids and high purity materials, Victron VRLA batteries can be stored for long periods of time without charging. The self-discharge rate is less than 2% per month at 20°C. The self-discharge doubles for every 10°C increase in temperature. Therefore, Victron VRLA batteries can be stored for up to a year without charging if kept in cool conditions.

Regeneration ability

Victron batteries with VRLA technology have the unique ability to recover from a deep or prolonged state of discharge. However, repeated deep and prolonged discharge should be avoided as this negatively affects the life of all batteries, Victron Gel Deep Cycle are no exception.
